Buster Bestfriend Buckingham Sparks

Buster was the much beloved dog of Eric and Alexis Sparks. Little is known about the first nine years or so years of Buster’s life. He was surrendered to Wright Way Rescue after his original owner died. He was named Buster by the staff, because he kept busting out of crates. Buster came to live with the Sparks family as a foster in 2020, after Alexis fell in love with his picture. Buster was Heartworm positive with a thyroid condition. His outlook was grim, but Buster decided to live. He also decided to live with the Sparks family permanently and put his plan into action to be adopted.

First Buster made Eric fall in love with him, by insisting on cuddling in his chair. Next, he proved he enjoyed dancing and provided endless laughs dancing in the kitchen. He earned the nickname Buckingham, because he was a picky eater, that frequently convinced Alexis to make him special meals. Then he buckled down and decided to fight. He fought Heartworms for 26 months before he was cleared. He overcame heart and lung failure as well. His adopt me plan was very successful; in April 2020 he became Buster Bestfriend Buckingham Sparks officially.

Buster became everyone’s friend. He went to all his human sister’s softball games, sported swim gear at a plunge for paws, wore his Christmas best 5 Christmases in a row to help his dad spread cheer at work, and recently won best dressed, best big dog and best in show at the Williamson County PAWgent.

When he wasn't being an ambassador for his many causes, Buster could be found directly under his mom's feet while she cooked, or visiting his beloved Papa on hospice care.

Buster’s family learned he had a terminal brain tumor in October. He was given 3-6 months to live. In that time, he celebrated his half birthday, went to an apple orchard, went to help with the family business, went to work with dad, ate 100% specially made meals, and was told how much he was loved every single day.

Buster started to show decline on Friday morning and was gone quickly. He leaves behind six dog, three cat, and one human sibling, along with two grieving parents that miss him more than he'll ever know. They take comfort in knowing he's back with PaPa, and if he finds his original owner, they hope he tells him thanks for raising such a sweet and perfect soul.
