In Loving Memory of Emmie Lou “Girl Pug” Burnett
Emmie Lou “Girl Pug” Burnett, our baby girl, was taken far too soon. Born on September 15, 2022, she lived a life that, while short, was full, fearless, and completely her own.
Named after a song by George Straight, Emmie Lou carried a spirit that was playful, strong-willed, and unforgettable. She had a beautiful, striking blue eye that made her stand out instantly, and a pout powerful enough to change your mind about anything.
She followed her dad everywhere, never missing a step, and took her role as his constant companion and office assistant seriously. Whether sitting beside him while he worked or watching TV, she was always right there.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gambit “Boobercat.”
She is survived by her two silly brothers, Hermie and Beau, and her mommy and daddy who loved her deeply and will forever feel her absence.
She also leaves behind her three bird friends, Reggie, Cotton “Mark,” and Ralia; her grandparents, Reany and Scott, and Lisa and Jeff; and so many special friends, including her best friend Marli.
Emmie Lou lived life hard. She was always ready for the next ride, the next adventure, the next new thing. She loved boating with family, swimming, boogie boarding, chasing bunnies, and anything that meant being outside and in motion.
At home, she kept things interesting. She was known for stealing her brothers’ toys, hoarding them, and hiding away every stick and bone she could find like it was her job. She had opinions, too, especially when it came to sports. She would bark and yell at the TV when the Wildcats weren’t playing the way they should, fully convinced she could help fix it.
She had a sharp eye for anything that didn’t belong, including anything on TV that didn’t sit right, and she never hesitated to make it known. She spent countless hours watching TV with mom and dad, chewing her bone and being locked into every moment.
She leaves behind her princess beds, a huge basket of toys now passed down to her brothers, and more memories than could ever be counted.
More than anything, she was deeply loved. By her brothers. By her mommy and daddy. By her friends. She filled every space she was in, and her absence is felt just as deeply.
