Kiah was a beautiful 8 year old pitbull mix with the sweetest soul. She crossed the rainbow bridge August 5, 2025 at 4:30 pm. I rescued her at the shelter in November of 2017 when she was about 1 year old and I was only 18. She was the very last kennel in the shelter that I was shown, but the one that immediately stole my heart. I knew as soon as I saw her. She was there for me for the end of my teenage years, and now through most of my 20s. Through heartbreaks, loss of family, friends, and through many huge changes in my life, Kiah has been there. Providing unconditional love, major emotional support, and too many cuddles and kisses to count when they were needed the absolute most.
Kiah loved to tear up every toy I’d bring home to her, going on walks, basking in the sunlight, playing ball, and any type of treat she could get out of you. She loved to throw herself on the ground and roll around in the grass on her back out of nowhere which was one of my favorite things she would do. It would always make me laugh. But mostly she loved her human mom the most and was my shadow and soul dog.
Although it was not long enough, I am so incredibly grateful to have been able to spend almost 8 whole years with Kiah and to have had her by my side through so many transitional periods of my life. She has left a massive aching hole where she once was and she will forever be missed and remembered.
Rest easy, my beloved friend. I can’t wait to see you again someday.
