Sadie "Buns" Romig

Sadie "Buns" Romig, Defender of the Couch, Protector of the Lap, age 14ish, of McLeansboro, passed away peacefully at home with her Dad and Mom by her side on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was born on March 11, 2012. She came to live with her parents and her litter mate, Greyson, in April of 2014, making our home and family feel complete.

Sadie leaves behind her parents Andy & Elecia (Gholson) Romig of McLeansboro, and her cat siblings: brother Greyson, with whom she had a special bond, brothers Bob and Bruce Wayne and sister Chessie.

Buns was just one of her many, many nicknames. Those visiting our home at anytime over the last 14 years may have heard us call her Sadie, Sadie Buns, Bunsie, Silky Sliga, Rabunzel, Fatness Everdeen, Bunsesliga, Bunscake, Bunscakey, Bunscake Baby, Baby Bunsie, Bunzess, and many more. 

She was known for having the softest, silkiest, shinest coat of fur, and she made sure to keep her fur immaculately clean. She was a lover of cuddles, chin rubs and belly rubs. Her Dad, Andy, was her favorite person and his was her favorite lap to cuddle on. Buns was never far from him whether cuddling on his lap, resting at the foot of his recliner or on the couch next to him. When not snuggling up with her parents, she could be found in a sunny spot, curled up on a soft blanket resting peacefully. Buns mostly kept to herself unless one of the cats messed with her brother, Greyson, and then she would leap into action to defend him

Andy and Elecia would like to thank Dr. Wendy Probst and the staff at Town and Country Vet of McLeansboro for the special care and attention during Sadie's final days. Buns, you were more than just a cat. You were a friend, the most loyal companion, a sweet and gentle soul, and you provided years of unconditional love, joy, and laughter. We hope we brought your life as much happiness as you brought us. 

To Our Sweet Sadie, we will miss you dearly. Until we meet again. ❤️
